BNI Policies

The BNI system is well tested and it works! 25 years experience has lead to around 120,000 members in 5000 chapters in over 40 countries generating millions of referrals. In 2007 BNI generated €1.7 billion of revenue for its members. In order to achieve this, BNI adheres to the following policies:

  • Only one person from each professional or industry is permitted to join a chapter of BNI.
  • All participants should represent their primary occupation, not a part-time business.
  • Attendance and punctuality is critical. If you cannot attend a meeting, you must send a substitute.
  • Participation in the chapter by members is a key to the success of a group. Members can participate by bringing bona-fide referrals and/or visitors to their BNI chapter.
  • BNI prohibit any commission arrangement between members.
  • Business cards and marketing materials for your company are required to ensure that fellow members can refer you correctly to their contacts.
  • Integrity and honesty are essential.
  • Attending educational seminars and reading training manuals & materials are a must in order to succeed.
  • Bringing an open mind, a positive attitude and the desire to help others will make BNI work for you beyond your expectations.
